Keeping it Straight8:49 AM
I’m so sorry that I haven’t been around here lately. I have been working local elections as well as getting ready for my mom’s 50th birthday party. I must admit I am a little overwhelmed at the work I have to do right now. I have to get caught up on my writing, blogging, clean my room, and get ready for a party.
Life can get overwhelming at times, and it is in those times that we can easily lose sight of the things that are truly important and fail to be thankful for what we do have. You snap at a sibling because they are on the computer when you “need” to be on that computer (like I did this morning). However, everything I do on this computer will be forgotten, but my siblings will still be here.
We get tired of having the same kind of meals and wish we had money to eat like “they” do, and we forget how blessed we are just to have food on the table. We get frustrated at how long it takes us to clean the kitchen and we forget to be thankful for the running water, hot water, and indoor plumbing that make our jobs so much easier.
So, today, I’m going to be thankful for what I have and try to make sure my priorities stay straight. What about you?
