When I started this blog, it was to showcase my writing and to get feedback from others.  Little did I know that God would use it to bring some amazing people into my life.  I had been blogging for about two or three months when a couple of girls started their own blog, Young Homemakers and found their way to mine.

Rachel and Jessica have become some of my dearest friends on earth, even though I have never met them.  They have made me laugh, cry and praise God for what he has done.  Their blog is not just a place to keep up with what is going on in their lives, but a place to be encouraged in your faith, inspired in your homemaking, and find the likeminded to fellowship with.

1. Spelling and Grammar Errors.

2. Inconsistencies in your plot.

3. Showing how your character changes.

4. Making sure your descriptions aren’t too long, or too short.

5. Keeping your chapters pretty much the same length.

6. Useless and unneeded information.

7. Too little information that might leave you readers confused.

8. Too many people to keep up with and remember.

9. Make sure in hard books that there is comic relief.

10. Don’t let Facebook, Blogger, or other web pages get between you and editing, (Yes, I found this out from experience).

It is hard to believe that is has been nine years since the devastating terrorist attacks  on 9/11/01. At the time I remember talking to my mom and she telling me that ten years from that day, people would be more concerned about the color of lipstick that they were going to wear to a wedding, or where they were going to go on vacation than what happened that day. I didn’t believe her, but, as usual, my mom was right.

I was eleven years old, but I remember that day clearly. I will never forget the horror as I sat watching one tower burning and then, as I watched, a plane came from the side of the screen and hit the other tower. At that moment, my life changed. Before, my world had been safe and secure; now, suddenly, it was a place of fear and uncertainty.

Yesterday was the first day of school for us. Although, I must confess, that it feels funny to say that. This is the first year that we have taken any official break from school. Usually we school all year round with a few days off here and there.


Okay, so I am graduated and not in school anymore.  So why should it matter to me when school is out or in? Well, I’m helping Mom teach my two youngest siblings this year. The first day went well, and I’m looking forward to today. Speaking of which, I better get a move on if I want to be done with my web work in time.

Good day everyone!


I hope that you had as fun of a Labor Day as I did. We invited several families to come spend the day with us, and three of them came. A dear friend of my sister Rose is getting married, came with her family in the morning along with her intended. We spent all morning and well into the afternoon helping her plan her reception


In the afternoon another family arrived that we have known for a while. They have a four year old that attached herself to me for most of the rest of their stay. I spent almost an hour holding her in my lap while I tried to do a few things, but I enjoyed every minute of it.


Around four, the coach for Michael’s basketball team arrived with his family. They have three boys and no girls so I was prepared to go inside and find something to do when someone suggested that we play volleyball. This family stayed to just past ten at night playing various games together. It was like having three more younger brothers around.


This extended weekend has not all been fun and games however. On Saturday night our dog died, which was very sad. None of us got to bed until very late and we didn’t sleep well. On Sunday we were all so tired that we didn’t feel like doing anything, but God had different plans. We got another dog (pictures coming soon), and a family we know called us because their car broke down, so it was another late night. As you can see, it as been a mixed weekend.


What has been going on with you?

Well, today will my last day in my week of writing since I will be working on a local campaign tomorrow. A many of you know, I enjoy being involved in politics, especially that which is local.
On Thursday I wrote 4,439 words which was much better than I wrote today. I only got 1,317 words written today. However, that brings the total of all my writings this week to 16,118, a good week’s work.

Well, I will most likely get back to regular posting this coming week.

First of all, welcome to September! Summer is coming to an end, and autumn is beginning. Tuesday I wrote 4,000 words bringing my total up to 9,000. However, yesterday I was very tired so I wrote just over 1,000 words.


It has been fun to spend so much time writing my book and seeing it near completion, however my fingers are suffering. I have three fingers that are sore, one of them I have a band aid on because it got so bad. Between my book, blogging, MOHL, e-mails, and chatting with friends, my fingers have been on a typing marathon.


What have you been doing?

I have been so pleased that we have been able to fill every slot in the past three or four Meditations of His Love (or MOHL) guest weeks.
