In a time when so much of the world in negative, there is a need for things that will be a positive influence in our lives. In a day when tearing others down is the norm, we need to be built up and help others do the same.
Written by my dear friend and fellow Meditations of His Love author, Rachelle (pronounced like Michelle), this blog is full of inspiring, encouraging, and thought-provoking posts. Every post seems designed to lift you up and make your day better. How much better can a blog get?
So this month I pick Rose's Daring Adventure to be my blog of the month. What do you think the next blog should be?
Both of these blog are so good and help me in my writing, I couldn’t decide between them. So let me introduce you to two of my favorite writers and writing blogs.
Literary Pursuits is written my good friend and fellow Meditations of His Love member Jessica. Jessica has so many good things to say and so many great challenges on her blog. If you get the chance, you really ought to participate in one of her Writing on the Weekends challenges, they are really fun.
Jessica and I have been writing buddies for two years now. She has really helped me with some of my author short comings.
Wordplay is written by the author K. M. Weiland (go here see my review for her book Behold the Dawn). She has to be one of the most brilliant writers I know personally. This blog is dedicated to help writers become authors and she is good at that. She has affected the way I write for sure.
What will be next month’s blog?
This, our first week of A Month of Saving, has been all about keys for success in our quest to save money. Today’s key for success is one of the hardest lessons for our society to accept; that of setting for less.
We are constantly bombarded from every side with the notion that we need, are entitled to, or the world will end if we are caught with less than the best. The right brand named clothes from the right stores. We have to have nice cars that come with at least some of those cool features. We need the latest technology. We can’t just have any broom; we have to have a Swifter ®.
One of the biggest changes in mind set we have to make in order to save money is being willing to settle for less. Most of the food on my family’s table comes from generic brands. Yes, some of it doesn’t taste as good as the name brand counterparts, but we cannot afford to be choosy. Most people could cut their food bills by a third if they were willing just to settle for less.
There are a lot of time saving tools you can buy, fancy brooms, shower cleaning systems that clean at the push of a button, and special remotes so you don’t have to bother with more than one. All of these are fun, easy, and would be ever so nice to have, but they are not necessities. You have to be willing to do a little more work and take a little more time in order to save a lot of money.
There are clothing lines out there that are “cool” or “in”. However, even if they meet all your modesty standards, why not buy your clothes at the local thrift shop? Or why not organize a clothing exchange at your church. Have a family that is willing to give you old clothes? Take them. They may be used, they may not be the “right” kind of clothes, but we will never seriously save any money unless we start settling for less.

When I started this blog, it was to showcase my writing and to get feedback from others. Little did I know that God would use it to bring some amazing people into my life. I had been blogging for about two or three months when a couple of girls started their own blog, Young Homemakers and found their way to mine.
Rachel and Jessica have become some of my dearest friends on earth, even though I have never met them. They have made me laugh, cry and praise God for what he has done. Their blog is not just a place to keep up with what is going on in their lives, but a place to be encouraged in your faith, inspired in your homemaking, and find the likeminded to fellowship with.
