Hope is Amazing

We all need some hope we can hold on to at times, don't we? Well, the story we are here to talk about today was written out of my weakness and my fight for hope.

What inspired Fanny's Hope Chest?
I was struggling with being single and busy cleaning out some items. I came across a couple of boxes that contained my hope chest items. It wasn't much, but I did wonder how long I should keep those boxes. An image of myself at 80 with a hope chest popped into my mind. Then, my mind grabbed that image and begged me to answer the question: why would a single lady in their 80s still have a hope chest? 

What was the biggest challenge in writing this book?
This journey was so personal and ran so deep. I had to remind myself as I prepared for feedback that the story may be personal, but not to take negative feedback personally. Also, the first draft was a little bit of a downer. I had to come up with ways of bringing more hope and joy into the story instead of making everyone wait until the end for all of it.

While most of my stories I dedicate to one of the many amazing people in my life, this book was different. The lessons were ones God helped me to learn over the course of hard-fought months.
