Not According to the plan

9:20 AM

Yesterday ended up being an exciting day. My sister, Rose, fell on the pavement and cut her hand really badly. Mom had to take her to the doctor's to get six stitches put in. Poor Rose is not feeling well and is still in some pain, so we are trying to make her as comfortable as possible.

It is funny how much you realize someone does when they stop doing it. Rose is the one that usually makes breakfast and a hundred other things that may seem small, but when we are left to do them, they sure pile up.

Even though this may seem really bad, there is still a lot to be thankful for. The first is that she cut her left hand and, since she is right handed, this means she can still do a lot. The second is that our brother acted quickly when she fell and immediately wrapped a shirt around the cut to stop the bleeding. The third thing is that we live in a society that has the best health care in the world. We could debate about how we can make it better, but we can be thankful that we know that we will be taken care of. Praise God for all his many blessings.

Note: My family doesn’t grow corn, but a lot of the people around us do.
