The Best Birthday and the Road Ahead

8:44 PM

Well, I didn't post yesterday for not only my birthday but my blog anniversary.  This year has been so different not only from all the other years I've blogged, but also from anything I expected. I'm so grateful for the way my life is unfolding. While I can't share everything here, I've seen God move in some huge ways this year in so many ways. We've seen God moving in people and situations my family has prayed for years.

This month has been packed full. My sister, Rose was accepted to Youth With A Mission Discipleship Training School. She will be far from us for the next five months, but you can follow her HERE. We packed a lot of stuff into this month with her before she left.

Well, after sending Rose off on Friday I kept solidly busy until Wednesday, which was my birthday. And it wasn't that I didn't have plans, but they felt nice and relaxing after the packed few days I had.

Scott took me on a river cruise that was so much fun and relaxing.

Then we went to Inks Lake State Park and enjoyed some waterfalls and lots of talking time.

When we got back to my house we went for a walk down the road we have walked so many times. We talked about so many things during our long walk. We turned toward back toward home and next thing I knew, Scott had asked me to marry him. As you can imagine, I said yes. We hugged and laughed together for a moment before he remembered to give me the ring. We laughed some more. We walked home pretty slowly talking about so many things. mostly about building a future together.

So yes, it was the best birthday ever. We got to celebrate with my family for a while before spending a little bit more time talking before he had to leave.

Of course, there is a lot of planning up ahead. But I do know that there is no one I would rather have at my side for the road ahead than Scott.

God has very richly blessed me.
