What inspired  Joseph of Arimathea?

I was reading one of my favorite stories in the Bible, The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus, and I was thinking about who the two people walking on the road were. I wondered if they were connected with other stories in the Bible and... this story was born.

What was the biggest challenge in writing  Joseph of Arimathea?

It's always challenging, as well as a huge responsibility, when writing biblical fiction to honor Jesus. Having fun with how some stories could be connected, while staying true to scripture, is always a fun challenge.
