Time flies when you have a little human

Hello friends!

How is it almost the end of May? This time last year, I was entering the second trimester and had begun to think I might possibly get to hold this little one after three losses before. Now, my little girl fills my days with joy, smiles, and a lot of work.

This past week, she started crawling, pulling herself into a sitting position, eating solids, and reaching for people. Seeing her learn new skills and explore the world is a delight to me. It makes up for the struggles we are having with nap times and all the extra work it puts into life. In fact, all of that seems like nothing when she looks up at me and smiles.

We recently took a road trip to Alabama to see Scott's extended family. Hannah did surprisingly well on the road trip. She loves people, so getting to meet a lot of relatives was her delight. I have told my husband that I am pretty sure we are going to be two introverts raising an extrovert. I know it will be a stretch for me, but I really do hope she continues to love being around people.

Most of my life right now is very...ordinary. It's filled with trying to get chores done while my little girl is happy playing or taking naps (or crying when I am trying to insist on naps and she isn't interested). It's filled with balancing taking care of my girl while also working to keep the house decently clean and loving my husband well.

And I am delighing in the ordinary.

I am finally getting back into writing. Usually, I am able to squeeze in twenty to forty minutes a day. I'm excited to be working on both Kate's Case Files and continuing The Weekly Mercies of Pam Ellis. Also, look for this space to be kept more up to date, because I am hoping to write a blog post at least once a week.

What have you been up to?
