I have to say this has to be the best family Disney in years!  The humor in not crude at all, the characters are nice, and it isn’t scary at all. I have a lot of good things to say about this movie but first, a little bit about the plot.

It is the delightful retelling of the fairy tale, Rapunzel.  Rapunzel lives in a tower hidden away in the wilderness.  She has been raised by a woman that she calls mother but stole her from her parents, the king and queen, for her magic hair.  Just before her 18th birthday, Rapunzel decides to go and see the “floating lights” that appear in the sky every year on her birthday.

Enter Flynn a thief who climbs into the tower to hide from his pursuers. He agrees to act as Rapunzel’s guide to see the floating lights, out of necessity. The journey, which seems simple enough, ends up being quite an adventure.

The bad parts of this movie?  Well there were two.  Number one is that Rapunzel’s hair is magical and that magic plays a key role in the film.  It goals when she sings a certain song, it heals, and makes people young.  Number two is that whole movie revolves around her bring rebellions and leaving the tower even though her “mother” has told her not to.

Good things about the movie?  1.  There is NO crude humor.  I have not seen an animation in a long time that didn’t at least have some. 2.  Flynn starts out as a selfish thief but by the end he has truly changed.  3. I thought Rapunzel was very sweet, despite her rebellious moments.  She also seemed very feminine. 4. Our whole family can watch this movie and no one will be scared, board, anything like that.

I loved this movie!  I hope you will enjoy it too.
